3 SC-3.V Students will understand that the sun is the main source of heat and light for things living on Earth. They will also understand that the motion of rubbing objects together may produce heat.
3 SC-3.V.1c. Provide examples of how sunlight affects people and animals by providing heat and light.
4 SC-4.V.2c. Describe some of the interactions between animals and plants of a given environment (e.g., woodpecker eats insects that live on trees of a forest, brine shrimp of the Great Salt Lake eat algae and birds feed on brine shrimp).
